1/ NOVEMBER 13TH : SIGNATURE OF 2 FINANCIAL AGREEMENTS WITH THE DEPUTY MINISTER FOR FINANCE AND ECONOMIC PLANNING, PROF. G.YAW GYAN-BAFFOUR
The first agreement amounting 30 million of euro is a global budgetary aid within the framework of the Multi Donor Budget Support (MBDS) in which are participating 10 donators. This year, France through AFD is co-President of MBDS. With this additional contribution, the annual participation of France for MBDS is increasing to 17 million of euro instead of the previous 7 million. Consequently, France is now one of the first donator of the MBDS.
The second agreement amounting 25 million of euro is aimed to finance with the World Bank and the Nordic Development Fund the Urban, environmental and sanitation project UESP 2 in Kumasi and Accra. It consists in improving road network and other infrastructure as well as resettlement of communities around both towns.
As a result, Ghana has been for the second year the first beneficiary of the financial aid of AFD in West Africa.
2/ NOVEMBER 14TH : SCHOOL INAUGURATION

Patrice Mollie launched a school built within the framework of the Community Based Rural Development Project at a ceremony. This project is shared by AFD and the World Bank and is amounting 71 million of euro. The part of AFD is 10 million. It is aimed to give more capacities building in public sector for districts and area councils.


3/ NOVEMBER 15TH : LAUNCH OF KUMASI ROADS AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Patrice Mollie accompanied by the Ambassador of France to Ghana, Mr Pierre Jacquemot, and President Kufuor on Wednesday launched the Kumasi roads and urban development projects at a ceremony in Kumasi. The event has been largely noticed by the press.
The project which is being funded by AFD at the cost of 23 million of euro is made up of five components. They are, the Sokoban Wood Village Access Road and Resettlement Enclave, the 3.2 kilometre Oforikrom-Asokwa By-pass, the Asafo to Ahinsan section of Lake Road, Lake Road interchange and landscaping of the banks of river Aboabo.
With this project and UESP 2 , AFD becomes the first financial partner of the Kumasi Town.
