Accountability project: first Western Regional Technical Committee

In the framework of the France-Ghana cooperation project on accountability in public sector, the first Western Regional Technical Committee was held on the 26th November 2015 at the Regional Coordinating Council, Sekondi-Takoradi.

The Head of cooperation and cultural affairs of the French Embassy, Jean-Luc MURE, and the Western Regional Coordinating Director, M. Solomon ASIEDU, were the co-chairmen of this meeting which made up a total of 29 participants. 11 MMDAs among the 22 who compose the Western Region attended.

The state of progress report on the component 2 of the project FSP2014-2 “Strengthening the accountability of Ghana central and local government” has been presented and approved. The action plan for 2016 has also been validated. The main recommendations of the Committee were operational remarks : providing the road map per trimester and per concerned authority, nominating a contact person for the French support within all stakeholders.

The importance of the each stakeholder’s ownership has been strongly highlighted by the co-chairmen of the meeting.
